Complete guide to using Suno
Use the suno/cover-generate API on ApiPass to create personalized cover images from an already completed Suno music task. Submit the source taskId, receive an asynchronous ApiPass task ID, then poll or receive callbacks until resultJson.resultUrls contains the generated cover image URLs.

Suno Cover Generate creates cover artwork for music that has already been generated through a compatible Suno music workflow. The API does not accept direct audio files or audio URLs for this endpoint. Instead, it uses the taskId from a completed source Suno generation or extension task, submits an asynchronous cover generation job, and returns one or more accessible image URLs after completion.
Generate personalized cover images for completed Suno music tasks. Provide the completed source taskId and ApiPass creates a new asynchronous cover generation job for that track.
Create Task returns an ApiPass task ID immediately after submission. Use that returned task ID with the Query Task API, or provide callBackUrl to receive a completion notification when the task reaches success or fail.
When generation succeeds, ApiPass normalizes the output into resultJson.resultUrls. Parse resultJson as a JSON string first, then read the resultUrls array for accessible cover image URLs.
Create visual cover artwork for generated songs using only the completed source music taskId. This keeps the workflow simple for apps that already generate or extend music and need matching visual assets.
The core input object requires only taskId. ApiPass also accepts task_id and task as compatibility aliases, then normalizes the request to taskId before processing.
Use polling through /api/v1/jobs/recordInfo or provide callBackUrl for asynchronous notifications. Callback payloads use the same structure as the Query Task API response.
Add automated cover image generation after a song is created, so users receive both audio and visual assets in a single creative workflow.
Generate cover artwork for tracks before publishing them to internal libraries, social platforms, or creator dashboards.
Let creators turn completed songs into shareable music cards, galleries, or project previews with cover artwork returned as CDN-hosted image URLs.
Use the completed source music taskId for creation, then use the new ApiPass task ID for status checks.
input.taskId is the ApiPass task ID (task_xxx) returned by createTask for the completed suno/generate or suno/extend task; ApiPass maps it to the provider task ID automatically. The data.taskId returned by Create Task is a new ApiPass task ID and should only be used to query the current cover generation task, not as the source taskId.
A successful Create Task response means the task was submitted, not completed. Poll /api/v1/jobs/recordInfo until state is success and resultJson.resultUrls is a non-empty array.
On success, resultJson is a JSON string containing resultUrls. Parse the string first, then read each URL in the resultUrls array as an accessible cover image.
The source taskId must be non-empty and must refer to a completed Suno music task that can be used for cover generation.
ApiPass validates the request before creating the upstream cover generation task. If input is not an object or taskId is missing, invalid, or empty, no upstream task is created.
Use channel auto by default, or choose starter, regular, or official when you need explicit provider routing based on your cost, stability, or performance requirements.
First complete a Suno music generation or extension task. Save the source music taskId returned by that completed workflow.
Send a POST request to /api/v1/jobs/createTask with model set to suno/cover-generate and input.taskId set to the completed source music taskId. Optionally include callBackUrl and channel.
Use the ApiPass task ID returned by Create Task with /api/v1/jobs/recordInfo. When state is success, parse resultJson and read resultUrls for the generated cover image URLs.
The API page shows the parameter schema, but Suno also has several business-specific mode combinations and callback rules that are easy to miss.
All APIs require authentication via Bearer Token.
Authorization: Bearer
Submit a Suno cover generation task using the ApiPass taskId of an already completed Suno music generation task.
The API accepts a JSON payload with the following structure:
1{
2 "model": "suno/cover-generate",
3 "callBackUrl": "string (optional)",
4 "channel": "auto",
5 "input": {
6 "taskId": "string"
7 }
8}modelRequiredstringThe public model name. This value is fixed as suno/cover-generate.
"suno/cover-generate"
callBackUrlOptionalstringCallback URL for task completion notifications. If omitted, no callback notification will be sent.
"https://your-domain.com/api/callback"
channelOptionalstringYou may specify the corresponding provider within APIPASS via the channel parameter; these providers handle the actual image and video generation tasks. APIPASS currently offers three provider options:
The default value for the channel parameter is auto. When enabled, APIPASS automatically allocates tasks across available providers based on real-time pricing and stability metrics to balance minimal cost and reliable performance. Retain the default auto value unless you have custom routing requirements.
Available options:
auto
The input object contains the following parameters:
input.taskIdRequiredstringCompleted source Suno music task ID. The source task must be finished and available for cover generation.
Use the ApiPass taskId from the completed source Suno music task returned by suno/generate, suno/extend, or another Suno music generation endpoint. Do not use the ApiPass task ID returned for the current cover generation task.
"task_yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy"
input.task_idOptionalstringAlias for input.taskId supported for compatibility with existing clients.
Compatibility alias accepted by ApiPass. ApiPass normalizes this value to taskId before sending the request upstream.
