Complete guide to using Suno
Use the Suno Persona API on ApiPass to create reusable music Personas from completed Suno audio tracks. Provide the ApiPass taskId of the completed source task, the target audioId, a Persona name, and a musical description; ApiPass returns a unified task record whose result contains the personaId for later Suno generation workflows that support Persona.

The Suno Persona API creates a reusable Persona from an already generated Suno audio track. It analyzes a selected 10 to 30 second audio segment to capture musical traits such as vocal character, genre, mood, instrumentation, rhythm, and performance style. This API cannot create a Persona directly from an audio URL. You must first complete a Suno generation, Extend, or compatible audio-generation task, then pass the ApiPass taskId (task_xxx) of that source task and the specific audioId from its completed result.
Create a Persona from a completed source track and use the returned personaId in later Suno generation requests that support Persona. This helps developers carry forward a consistent musical identity across future songs.
Choose the source audio segment with vocalStart and vocalEnd. The default segment is 0 to 30 seconds, and custom segments must be 10 to 30 seconds long with vocalEnd greater than vocalStart.
Persona creation is handled through ApiPass Jobs. Submit the task with POST /api/v1/jobs/createTask, then query the final result with GET /api/v1/jobs/recordInfo using the ApiPass task ID returned in data.taskId.
Build reusable Personas from music that has already been generated. ApiPass requires both the completed source taskId and the exact audioId so the correct track can be analyzed.
Control which part of the song is analyzed with vocalStart and vocalEnd. Integer values, decimals, and numeric strings are accepted, while negative values, booleans, non-numeric strings, and invalid ranges are rejected before upstream billing.
Use callBackUrl to receive completion notifications, or query the ApiPass task manually. Parse data.resultJson and read resultJson.data.personaId; do not confuse it with the outer ApiPass task ID.
Create a Persona from a finished track and reuse its personaId in later Suno generation workflows to preserve a recognizable musical direction across a catalog or app experience.
Let users save reusable vocal or style Personas from their completed tracks, then select those Personas when generating new music inside your product.
Analyze the strongest 10 to 30 second section of a generated song, create a Persona, and use it as a stable reference for future variations, extensions, or related music-generation tasks.
Use the Persona API after a source Suno task has completed. The returned personaId is separate from the ApiPass Jobs task ID.
input.taskId is the ApiPass task ID (task_xxx) returned by createTask for the completed suno/generate or suno/extend source task; ApiPass maps it to the provider task ID automatically. After creating a Persona, ApiPass returns data.taskId for the new Jobs record; use that new task ID only to query Persona creation status, not as the source taskId.
Passing only the source task ID is not enough. Copy the exact audioId from the source task audio list or callback result so ApiPass can analyze the intended track.
When the task succeeds, parse data.resultJson and read resultJson.data.personaId. That personaId is the identifier to use in later Suno generation requests that support Persona.
ApiPass validates required fields and audio segment rules before billing and before calling the upstream provider. Invalid taskId, audioId, name, description, or segment values will not create an upstream task.
Use the optional channel parameter to select auto, starter, regular, or official routing. auto is the default and lets ApiPass allocate tasks across available providers based on real-time pricing and stability metrics.
If callBackUrl is provided, ApiPass posts the final task result to your endpoint. If omitted, no callback notifications are sent and you can query /api/v1/jobs/recordInfo manually.
Create a source audio task first using suno/generate, suno/extend, or another compatible Suno audio generation API. Wait until the source task is complete before creating a Persona.
From the completed source task result or callback, copy the ApiPass taskId (task_xxx) of the source task and the target track audioId. The Persona API cannot create a Persona from an audio URL alone.
Send POST /api/v1/jobs/createTask with model suno/persona and the required input fields. Query GET /api/v1/jobs/recordInfo with the returned ApiPass task ID, then parse data.resultJson to retrieve resultJson.data.personaId.
The API page shows the parameter schema, but Suno also has several business-specific mode combinations and callback rules that are easy to miss.
All APIs require authentication via Bearer Token.

The API accepts a JSON payload with the following structure:
1{
2 "model": "suno/persona",
3 "callBackUrl": "string (optional)",
4 "channel": "auto",
5 "input": {
6 "taskId": "string",
7 "audioId": "string",
8 "name": "string",
9 "description": "string",
10 "vocalStart": 0,
11 "vocalEnd": 30,
12 "style": "string (optional)"
13 }
14}modelRequiredstringThe model name. For this API, it must be fixed as suno/persona.
"suno/persona"
callBackUrlOptionalstringCallback URL for task completion notifications. If omitted, no callback will be sent.
channelOptionalstringYou may specify the corresponding provider within APIPASS via the channel parameter. The default channel is auto; APIPASS automatically allocates tasks across available providers based on real-time pricing and stability metrics. starter is ultra-low-cost with limited quotas and weaker stability; regular is standard and much cheaper than official APIs with moderate stability; official uses the model native API with high stability, fast task execution, and official pricing.
The default value for the channel parameter is auto. When enabled, APIPASS automatically allocates tasks across available providers based on real-time pricing and stability metrics to balance minimal cost and reliable performance. starter is ultra-low-cost with limited quotas and weaker stability. regular is the standard tier, much cheaper than official APIs, with moderate stability. official uses the model native API with high stability, fast task execution, and official pricing.
Available options:

The input object contains the following parameters:
input.taskIdRequiredstringSource Suno music task ID. It must correspond to a completed generation or Extend task.
Use the ApiPass task ID (task_xxx) returned by createTask for the completed suno/generate or suno/extend source task; ApiPass maps it to the provider task ID automatically. Do not use the newly created ApiPass Persona task ID here.
"task_yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy"
input.audioIdRequiredstringThe specific audio track ID from the source task to analyze for Persona creation.
Copy the exact audioId from the source task audio list or callback result. Passing only the source task ID is not sufficient.
"e231xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx8cadc7dc"
input.nameRequiredstringPersona name. The value must be a non-empty string.
"Electronic Pop Singer"
input.descriptionRequiredstringDetailed description of the Persona. The value must be a non-empty string.
Describe the Persona's musical characteristics, such as genre, mood, instrumentation, rhythm, and vocal qualities. Do not use this field for internal notes about the source task.
"A modern electronic pop singer with dynamic rhythms and synthesizer tones"
input.vocalStartOptionalnumberStart time in seconds for the audio segment to analyze. The value must be greater than or equal to 0. Default: 0.
The default analysis segment starts at 0 seconds. Integer values, decimal values, and numeric strings such as "12.5" are accepted. Boolean values, negative numbers, non-numeric strings, and infinity values are rejected.
0
input.vocalEndOptionalnumberEnd time in seconds for the audio segment to analyze. The value must be greater than or equal to 0. Default: 30.
vocalEnd must be greater than vocalStart. The analysis segment length, vocalEnd - vocalStart, must be between 10 and 30 seconds inclusive.
30
input.styleOptionalstringOptional supplemental music style tag, such as Electronic Pop or Jazz Trio. If omitted, ApiPass will not send an empty style field to apipass.
"Electronic Pop"
input.task_idOptionalstringCompatible alias for input.taskId.
ApiPass recommends camelCase field names, but accepts this alias at the request input layer and normalizes it to taskId before sending to apipass.
"task_yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy"
input.taskOptionalstringCompatible alias for input.taskId.
