Complete guide to using Suno
Use the Suno Voice Validate API on ApiPass to generate the verification phrase required before creating a custom voice. Submit a public original voice recording, define the vocal segment, choose an optional phrase language, then read validateInfo from the completed task and record the phrase exactly for the next voice-generation step.

suno/voice-validate is the first step in the custom voice workflow. It does not create the final voiceId. Instead, it analyzes an original human voice recording and returns a validation phrase. After the task succeeds, the user must record a new verification audio using that phrase exactly as written, upload it to a public HTTPS URL, and submit it to suno/voice-generate with the validation task ID to create the final custom voice.
Submit a public original voice recording URL and a vocal segment range. ApiPass creates an asynchronous validation task and returns a taskId that can be used to query the generated validation phrase.
Use vocalStartS and vocalEndS to select the exact vocal segment from the source audio. Both values must be non-negative integers, and vocalEndS must be strictly greater than vocalStartS.
Optionally specify the validation phrase language using supported language codes: en, zh, es, fr, pt, de, ja, ko, hi, and ru. Empty language values are treated as omitted.
The API separates phrase validation from final custom voice creation. First call suno/voice-validate to get validateInfo, then record the phrase and call suno/voice-generate to create the final voiceId.
Create tasks through /api/v1/jobs/createTask and query status through /api/v1/jobs/recordInfo. When callBackUrl is provided, ApiPass posts the completion payload to your endpoint using the same structure as the query response.
ApiPass recommends camelCase fields but also accepts voice_url, vocal_start_s, and vocal_end_s aliases at the input layer, then normalizes them before sending the request upstream.
Build a guided onboarding flow that collects an original voice clip, generates a validation phrase, prompts the user to record it exactly, and continues into custom voice creation.
Add verified custom voice setup to music creation tools, creator platforms, and production dashboards where users need reusable voices for generated songs.
Use task polling or callbacks to coordinate source audio validation, phrase recording, and final voice generation in a reliable asynchronous backend workflow.
Use suno/voice-validate only for the verification phrase step. The final custom voice is created by suno/voice-generate after the user records the returned phrase.
suno/voice-validate returns validateInfo and an upstream validation task reference. It does not return the final voiceId. suno/voice-generate uses the validation task ID and a newly recorded verifyUrl to create the final custom voice.
If callBackUrl is omitted, query /api/v1/jobs/recordInfo with the returned taskId. If callBackUrl is provided, ApiPass sends the completed task payload to your endpoint. The callback content structure matches the query response.
suno/voice-validate and suno/voice-generate are separate ApiPass models with separately maintained billing rules. Use the active billing rules for suno/voice-validate when creating validation tasks.
The channel parameter can route tasks through auto, starter, regular, or official. Keep the default auto value unless you have a specific routing requirement.
ApiPass does not upload or proxy the source audio for this task. Provide a public URL that can be directly accessed by the upstream provider; downloadability is validated upstream.
Upload the original human voice recording to a stable public HTTPS URL. Choose a clean vocal segment and note its start and end seconds.
Send a POST request to /api/v1/jobs/createTask with model set to suno/voice-validate and input containing voiceUrl, vocalStartS, vocalEndS, and optionally language.
Query /api/v1/jobs/recordInfo with the returned taskId, read validateInfo after success, record the phrase exactly, then submit the verification recording URL to suno/voice-generate.
The API page shows the parameter schema, but Suno also has several business-specific mode combinations and callback rules that are easy to miss.
All APIs require authentication via Bearer Token.
Authorization: Bearer
Submit an original voice recording and vocal segment range to generate a validation phrase for Suno custom voice creation.
The API accepts a JSON payload with the following structure:
1{
2 "model": "suno/voice-validate",
3 "callBackUrl": "string (optional)",
4 "channel": "auto",
5 "input": {
6 "voiceUrl": "string",
7 "vocalStartS": 0,
8 "vocalEndS": 10,
9 "language": "en"
10 }
11}modelRequiredstringThe public model name for this request. Must be fixed to suno/voice-validate.
"suno/voice-validate"
callBackUrlOptionalstringCallback URL for task completion notifications. If omitted, no callback will be sent.
channelOptionalstringYou may specify the corresponding provider within APIPASS via the channel parameter; these providers handle the actual generation tasks. APIPASS currently offers three provider options:
The default value for the channel parameter is auto. When enabled, APIPASS automatically allocates tasks across available providers based on real-time pricing and stability metrics to balance minimal cost and reliable performance. Retain the default auto value unless you have custom routing requirements.
Available options:
auto
inputRequiredobjectValidation task parameter object. It must be a JSON object and cannot be an array, string, or null.
{"voiceUrl":"https://cdn.example.com/audio/original-voice.mp3","vocalStartS":0,"vocalEndS":10,"language":"en"}The input object contains the following parameters:
input.voiceUrlRequiredstringOriginal human voice recording URL used to generate the validation phrase.
Use a public HTTPS URL that ApiPass can directly download. ApiPass does not upload or proxy the audio file. The alias input.voice_url is accepted for existing clients but new integrations should use input.voiceUrl.
input.vocalStartSRequiredintegerStart time in seconds for the vocal segment to extract from the original audio.
The value must be a non-negative integer. Numeric strings such as "0" are normalized to integers. The alias input.vocal_start_s is accepted for existing clients but new integrations should use input.vocalStartS.
0
input.vocalEndSRequiredintegerEnd time in seconds for the vocal segment to extract from the original audio.
The value must be a non-negative integer and must be strictly greater than input.vocalStartS. Numeric strings such as "10" are normalized to integers. The alias input.vocal_end_s is accepted for existing clients but new integrations should use input.vocalEndS.
10
input.languageOptionalstringLanguage used for the generated validation phrase. If omitted, the upstream default is used.
The value is case-insensitive and is converted to lowercase before sending upstream. An empty string is treated as omitted.
Available options:
"en"
1curl --request POST \
2 --url "https://api.apipass.dev/api/v1/jobs/createTask" \
3 --header "Authorization: Bearer ${APIPASS_API_KEY}" \
