Complete guide to using Gpt Image 2
Generate intentionally designed visuals with less prompting using the latest OpenAI GPT Image 2 model.

GPT Image 2 API on APIPASS gives developers seamless access to OpenAI's most advanced image generation model. It delivers a step change in instruction-following accuracy, precise object placement, and dense text rendering across any aspect ratio. With a refined sense of composition and visual taste, outputs feel intentionally designed rather than AI-generated. Multilingual accuracy and expanded world knowledge mean smarter images with minimal prompting. Through APIPASS, integrate this powerful capability into your products instantly — no complex setup required.
Every request requires input.prompt. The adapter validates the prompt before sending anything to GPT Image 2.
GPT Image 2 supports 1:1, 3:2, 2:3, 3:4, 4:3, 4:5, 5:4, 9:16, 16:9, and 21:9 through input.aspect_ratio for GPT Image 2. Legacy size values 1024*1024, 1024*1536, and 1536*1024 still map to 1:1, 2:3, and 3:2.
Both text-to-image and edit requests support quality values low, medium, and high, plus resolution values 1k and 2k. The adapter defaults to medium quality and 1k resolution when these fields are omitted.
The adapter submits GPT Image 2 jobs with a system webhook URL and forces enable_sync_mode to false, so createTask returns quickly while completion is delivered asynchronously. After completion, ApiPass attempts to upload provider image URLs to CF before returning resultUrls.
When input.images contains one or more source image URLs, APIPASS routes the request to GPT Image 2 /edit endpoint instead of /text-to-image.
By default, enable_base64_output is false and APIPASS returns output URLs. If base64 output is enabled, ApiPass decodes and uploads the generated image bytes before returning resultUrls.
Follow fine-grained instructions, preserve subtle details, and render small text, UI icons, and dense compositions with fidelity—producing usable, intentionally designed images at up to 2K resolution instead of vague approximations.
Generate visually coherent images with non‑Latin scripts—Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Hindi, and Bengali—where text is rendered correctly and language flows naturally, enabling posters, explainers, diagrams, and comics that truly work worldwide.
Reproduce defining signatures of photos, including even the tiny flaws that add realism, plus cinematic stills, pixel art, and manga, with consistent texture, lighting, composition, and detail—faithfully matching requested styles.
Precisely understand beats and shot framing, preserving text stability and character consistency to one-click generate high-quality comics or storyboards—no character mixing, text errors, or illogic, all generated with gpt image 2 at once without editing or multiple steps.
Generate and regenerate visuals across the full canvas spectrum—from panoramic banners to tall mobile graphics—while preserving composition, subject focus, and typography legibility. Choose from 1:1, 3:2, 2:3, 3:4, 4:3, 4:5, 5:4, 9:16, 16:9, and 21:9. Perfect for social creators, advertisers, product designers, filmmakers, and presentation teams who need platform-ready assets on demand.
Use up‑to‑date world knowledge of December 2025, delivering relevant, context‑aware outputs. Ideal for explainers, maps, educational graphics, and visual summaries. Handle workflows end‑to‑end—synthesize information, write compelling copy, and render clean, well‑organized layouts with tasteful white space, clarity, and excellent legibility and flow.
The integration follows the standard APIPASS asynchronous jobs flow while GPT Image 2 API completion is handled through the APIPASS system webhook.
Choose openai/gpt-image-2 as the model and prepare input with prompt, aspect_ratio, quality, resolution, optional enable_base64_output, and optional images for edit mode.
Send the payload to /api/v1/jobs/createTask. The adapter submits to GPT Image 2 with the APIPASS system webhook URL and switches to /edit automatically when images are provided.
GPT Image 2 posts completion to APIPASS when the provider task finishes. You can also query /api/v1/jobs/recordInfo by taskId to read the latest stored state.
After the task succeeds, read resultUrls from resultJson. These URLs are normalized by APIPASS regardless of the original GPT Image 2 output format.
These suggestions line up with the APIPASS adapter guardrails and the APIPASS GPT Image 2 request shape.
Include subject, setting, visual style, framing, lighting, and any required text or UI elements in the prompt. This is especially useful for screenshots, launch images, and marketing visuals.
The framing target changes significantly across the expanded ratio set. Use 16:9 or 21:9 for wide screenshots and hero images, 9:16 for vertical social content, 4:5 or 5:4 for feed-friendly layouts, and 1:1 for square assets.
The APIPASS adapter runs in webhook mode and forces enable_sync_mode to false. Treat createTask as an asynchronous submission and read final outputs through callbacks or recordInfo.
Build campaign explainers and social visuals grounded in up-to-date facts. The model drafts copy, picks key stats, and renders clean, on‑brand layouts with strong legibility—perfect for pitches, landing pages, and market/competitor summaries without outdated references.
Generate concept art that reflects current architecture, fashion, devices, and cultural touchpoints. Turn a brief into moodboards, captions, and final posters with balanced whitespace and typography, avoiding anachronisms while staying visually fresh.
Convert vetted sources into precise, up‑to‑date knowledge graphs, maps, and visual summaries. Receive clear, organized diagrams and slide-ready graphics that emphasize correctness, flow, and readability for lectures and courseware.
Swap colorways, patterns, materials, and micro‑details across designs while staying aligned with 2025 standards and competitor benchmarks. Auto-generate annotated comps, spec sheets, and scenario visuals for quick A/B testing and stakeholder reviews.
The document uses openai/gpt-image-2 because the ApiPass adapter supports both that public alias and the shorter gpt-image-2 alias.
The documented prompt, aspect_ratio, quality, resolution, images, enable_base64_output, and legacy size behavior match the ApiPass adapter’s check_params and _build_payload logic.
The API sections describe the webhook-first lifecycle: ApiPass creates a task, returns the provider request ID in the initial response, and updates resultJson after receiving the provider’s final callback.
All APIs require authentication via Bearer Token.
